it's blurry. buy a better camera and you can capture those 3" shots. good luck

i think its blurry because you are focusing on the flower not everything else which is normal with all cameras

it's a great shot really it so crisp hey i'm learning on a digita so it's not much better

yeah the flower is a bit blurry.... try using a higher shutter speed (1/25 is too slow) and bigger aperture (or tripod mounting). to throw the background out of focus you should use bigger apertures but with the very small distance from the lens, the effect is dramatically accentuated! no, macro ain't easy! at least with digital you can experiment a lot with all these parameters. good try though, i like the colours and composition!

yep i saw the blur in the original 2meg picture. I put it up here anyway, hoping my friends (like you!) would give me some pointers. ;)

The person i'm getting the camera from was there (after the fact) & told me the shutter speed was too slow for what i was doing - but the flower was too closed up to take another. i may have an opportunity to try again tomorrow - we'll see.

also thanx for the chocolates D andrew was over last night and we talked about them when we went out for dinner but we totally forgot about them when we came back to my house but be assured they will get to him lol thank you soooo much and have an awsome christmas D: :D

The lotus is my favorite flower, lovely photograph! It's a bit blurry indeed, but that makes this picture soft and it makes the flower float into the background... I kinda like it like this in fact... this doesnt mean that I dont want to see a new sharp shot though! Well done! :+fav:
